The first step in the demolition of the old Benton County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) was the careful removal of the limestone bricks from the exterior walls. Architects planned to use as many of those bricks as possible for decorative stone on the new LEC.
Virtually all of the limestone was retrieved from the old LEC and stored until it could be added to the new one. That process will begin soon. The limestone has been returned to the LEC site and workers have been preparing it for the new building.
