For years, a group of committed volunteers has been working to turn the old Brandon bank building into a Historical Museum. The group has been holding soup suppers and other fund-raising events, as well as collecting historical items from local residents.
On Saturday evening, the group held a soup supper at the Brandon Cafe across the street from the bank. Funds will be used for tuckpointing as well as work on the floor inside the bank.
"Many people have given us things," said Marlene Brown. "Advertising items from businesses that used to be in Brandon, and even a scale from the old hardware store.
The bank still has the old vault as well as the historical teller booths.
