The Vinton-Shellsburg Fine Arts Century Club will hold its annual meeting this Monday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at the VS High School.

The Club helps raise money for the VSHS band, choir, drama and speech departments.

“As a faculty member, I can to thank the community for what they have done for us,” said VSHS Band Director Karl Smith.

The Club has helped with the purchase and maintenance of a grand piano used for many events. It has helped pay for equipment used in school plays, and has also helped in many other ways.
The Club includes many local residents. Becoming a voting member requires a $100 minimum annual contribution (which is tax-deductible).

The Club officers include: President LuAnn Urlaub, Vice-President Bob Fischer, Recording Secretary Nancy Beckman, Treasurer Bill Owens, and Mr. Smith, who handles communications for the Club.

The meeting will review the Club’s contributions of the past, and include a discussion of current fine arts programs and needs.

The public is invited to attend.
