Next week is Fire Prevention Week, and Vinton and Garrison fire departments plan their annual breakfasts.

The Garrison event take place this Sunday, Oct. 4.

The Vinton breakfast comes a week later on Oct. 11.

Garrison details:

The Garrison breakfast takes place from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Emergency Services Building. There will also be a drawing for free smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, hash browns and biscuits and gravy.

Canton-Shellsburg FD details: 
Sunday Oct. 4 from 7 a.m. to noon. Great food including; biscuits and gravy, ham, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. All you can eat; adults $8, kids $5 and kids under the age of 5 eat free. Call 329-436-2099 for carry out.
 
School activities
Area firefighters will also visit classrooms, offer rides on fire trucks and welcome students to the fire station for tours next wee.
