This year, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter had four graduated members fill out their applications to apply for the American Degree. An American Degree is the highest level of degree an FFA member can receive. To receive this degree the member must have invested so much money and/or time in their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE), maintain a record of community service, have a record of outstanding leadership skills, as well as maintaining a “C” grade average or better within college. The members who applied for the degree achieved these goals and the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter is proud to say that they all were accepted to receive their American Degree. These members include Dillon Brummer, Abbie Darland, Kyle Henkle, and Caleb Svoboda!
The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter isn’t only celebrating the amazing achievements of these four members, but it is also celebrating the wonderful job the members did through out the whole year that led the chapter to receiving a Three Star Rating at Nationals for National Chapter Award!
The National Chapter Award recognizes chapters that successfully complete an annual Program of Activities (POA) and shows the involvement of the chapter and members within the community. To be eligible for the award, the chapter must complete at least 15 activities that cover the different areas in the POA.

VS FFA members will receive national recognition for these honors at the National FFA Convention later this month.

The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter is fully dedicated to their work; providing help in the community, and gaining leadership skills that will help the members grow to be successful adults, and these achievements are proof of that.
