News : Final corn ears unveiled; art guild plans silent auction Saturday

The railroad-themed corn ear is among the newest to be displayed.

The last of the Vinton Guild of Fine Arts ear of corn statues are done and will be on display during Saturday's Art Fest.

The re-scheduled event takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Celebration Park.

"We will have silent auction of some donated items and will have around 15 artists booths at the park, along with our auction of ears of corn – for a contribution to the Vinton Guild of Arts to go toward our next project," says guild member Therese Foth.

On the ears of corn the Guild will have plaques made for the name of the artist, sponsor and contributor.
