All charges are subject to review  by the Benton County Attorney's Office.  An arrest or criminal charge is merely an accusation and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.  Intrastate Warrants are issued by law enforcement agencies for crimes happening in their jurisdictions.

Juvenile Referrals

8/3/10 A 17 year old male was referred to juvenile probation for Public Intoxication (Simple Misdemeanor) and Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (Simple Misdemeanor).

21 Citations were issued in August. 14 were for moving violations, four for non-moving violations, one for possession of alcohol under legal age, one for minor using tobacco - 1st offense, and one for minor using tobacco - 2nd offense.

38 written warnings were issued in August. 10 were for moving violations, 27 for non moving violations, and one for dog at large.

Five state reportable traffic accidents were investigated in August. 4 citations were issued as a result of these investigations.

For the month of August, 196 complaints/calls for service were handled by the Vinton Police Department.
