News : Vinton Farmer's Market salsa contest winners named

Dawn Richards of Vinton won the salsa contest at Vinton Farmer's Market Thursday evening.

Judges Nathan Hesson, Kurt Karr and Brenda Bartz examen the salsa contest entries.

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department held its annual Salsa Contest at the Vinton Farmers market on Thursday, August 19th. This year’s winner was Dawn Richards from Vinton. She entered a sweet, kind of fruity salsa that was won over by all of the judges.

Celebrating judges were Kurt Karr, Brenda Bartz and Nathan Hesson. The salsa was then enjoyed by everyone at the market. Start planning now for next year contest by trying some new recipes with this seasons produce.

Next Thursday at the market we will be having our Kids Veggie Olympics Night so bring the kids out for some fun at the market.
