News Annual tradition: Ikes donate large wreath to VGH

The Red Cedar Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is continuing its Christmas wreath fund-raising again this year.

The Ikes made 120 wreaths for sale for the fund-raiser for the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, and have again donated a large wreath to Virginia Gay Hospital. 

The Ikes presented the wreath to VGH CEO Mike Riege and VGH Foundation Director Mike Timmermans on Wednesday morning. 

Pictured with the wreath are: Ike member Craig Hoepner, Mike Riege, Ike members Shirley Wiley, Rosemary Hoepner, Brenda Hackbarth, Lowell Fink, Chuck Meredith and Mike Timmermans.

Corey McKibben donated the greenery for the wreaths for the past two years.

The Ikes member who helped with the wreath but are not pictured include. Ross Wiley, Barb Glime and Ken Gregory.

"The Ikes have been presenting the hospital with a beautiful wreath for 15 years and it is much-appreciated," said Timmermans.
