The Benton County Democratic Party reconvened its 2012 convention on Monday, August 13 for the purpose of selecting a candidate to represent the party for the November 5th special supervisor election to fulfill the one year remaining of former Supervisor Jason Sander’s term. Mr. Sanders resigned his seat to pursue other interests out of state.
Four residents of the 1st Supervisor District, Ron Heins, Diana Lamphier, Shelly Parbs, and Ed Sass, each spoke to the delegates asking for their votes. Shelley Parbs of rural Center Point received the most votes and will be representing the Democratic Party on the ballot.
Shelley’s priorities includes fiscal responsibility, sound leadership as stewards of your tax dollars, and a special concern for funding mental health services as state resources change. She looks forward to hearing your concerns and looks forward to serving you as County Supervisor.
