News : Boomtown coming next week; bring your cameras!

Not every photo of a fireworks show turns out like the photographer had planned...

I often evaluate events by how much fun (and how much of a challenge) they are to photograph.

Boomtown, which as you know comes back to Vinton next weekend, is by those standards, one of my favorite events. Taking fireworks photos is both challenging and fun, although sometimes I think I should just put down the camera and enjoy the show.

But then, how would those who don't some to see one of Iowa's biggest fireworks events of the year know what they are missing?
