It has been almost 5 years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the levee system in New Orleans, LA, and caused a devastating amount of damage to the city. Traveling through the neighborhoods, especially those frequented by tourists, the city is alive again. However, the houses that Cedar 7 are working on are only in the small percentage of those that have been fixed or are being repaired. A few of the houses still have FEMA trailers sitting stagnant in the yard. To Cedar 7, their last project could not have been better served in any other area than disaster relief. Rebuilding is not only a process, it is an agonizingly slow development that takes an unimaginable about of supplies, labor, and hope to complete. Cedar 7 is excited for their last project to serve such a cause, and can not wait to see what they can accomplish in their time in New Orleans.
