Just a couple of days before the Palace 2-D movie screen would be used the final time, one of the ropes used to raise and lower the screen broke.

"It was perfect timing," said Gerald Horst, as  he prepared to help remove the screen to make room for the 3-D screen and digital projecting system that will be installed over the next two days. 

Horst said the project includes three new speakers, allthough the sub-woofer will remain in place. A possible future improvement would include surround-sound speakers at the Palace, he added.
