Football Update: How area teams are doing as half-way point approaches

Tonight (Week 5) marks the half-way point for the 2016 high school football season in Iowa. Vinton-Shellsburg is 0-4 heading into its Class 3A District 5 contest at South Tama (2-2) tonight.

Witnesses say three men riding in the cab of this garbage truck went to the hospital by ambulance Tuesday morning. One of the three has died. One man died and two others were injured in a Tuesday morning accident involving a garbage truck and semi on Highway 150, at the intersection of 24th Avenue Drive, four miles north of Vinton.

Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Cancelled Today Due to Fog

The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight regrets to announce the cancellation of Flight #29 which had been scheduled for today (September 19, 2019). This was due to the extremely heavy fog this morning, which prohibited our charter aircraft from landing at the Eastern Iowa Airport this morning to pick up the Veterans and Guardians for the trip to Washington, DC.
