One hundred percent of your tax deductible contribution is used for the betterment of the Vinton community. The Vinton Community Foundation board members are pleased to announce they are now accepting grant applications from non-profit Vinton area groups, for the 2017-grant program.

FBI sets up Tip page in Jake Wilson case; LPC boy has been missing more than one week

The search continues for Jake Wilson, the autistic La Porte City teenager who has been missing since Saturday, April 7. The FBI has created a web site for people to submit anonymous tips, including videos or photos of the LPC area taken the night Jake went missing; law enforcement personnel have also announced that they are looking into reports of another person walking in the area that night.

More than 25 Buena Vista University (BVU) students, faculty and staff participated in three AWOL (Alternative Week of Off-site Learning) trips during spring break, enabling them to volunteer their time and service with a variety of people and programs.
