150th Celebration Volunteers Needed

The year of the celebration has finally arrived! While the 150th celebration has been our radar for almost two years, the realization has hit once the calendar flipped to 2019!   While small, subtle nods to the milestone will occur throughout 2019, mark your calendars for August 17-24, 2019! The Walldogs are scheduled to return to Vinton during this week to give our mural history a fresh coat of paint and add new murals as well.

2018 Year in Review: July-December

JulyJuly always brings the Benton County Fair to town. The many exhibits and displays, the competitions, rides and the treats that you can only get at the fair, are the highlight of every kid's life!A quiet event that happens every month in Benton County, is a few hours of musical enjoyment in the small town of Garrison.

2018 in Review: January-June

January January started with the discussion of sandblasting and cleaning up the water tower in Kiwanis Park. I'm not sure about you, but I had forgotten how bad it looked! I think we can say cleaning it up was worth the cost! Riverside Park also saw an update to their playground equipment.

Week 5 & Grand Prize winners of the Holiday Lights Drawing

Congratulations to Shannen Parmater our week 5 winner in the ‘holiday lights’ promotion! Shannen has won Vinton Value Dollars! Also, congratulations to Tina Eden, our GRAND PRIZE winner! Tina’s name was drawn from over 2,300 completed cards that were collected throughout the entire promotion.

Robert Noble arrested in Urbana Motel on outstanding warrants

Robert Edward Noble, 57, Cedar Rapids faces additional charges following his arrest on outstanding warrants Thursday morning December 27th. Urbana Police learned that Noble had been staying at the Urbana Inn and Suites and had outstanding arrest warrants that originated from Fayette County Iowa for two counts of failure to appear for a probation violation.
