Sunday evening, a vehicle traveling southbound in the 1600 block of South 10th Avenue lost control turning left to continue on to 61st Street Lane when it ran off the travel portion of the roadway.

Annual Party in Pink Event Attracts Registrations from Seven Different States

Rain earlier in the day did not dampen the enthusiasm of nearly 400 participants for this year’s Party in Pink 5K Walk/Run on Friday, June 21. Registrants represented seven states including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Missouri, Wisconsin and, of course, Iowa.

Former Bank Vice President, Aided in Obstruction of FDIC Investigation Sentenced

  A man who aided the obstruction of an FDIC examination was sentenced on June 13, 2019, to one year and one day in federal prison.              Martin Smith, age 39, from Center Point, Iowa, received the prison term after an August 27, 2018 guilty plea to aiding and abetting the obstruction of an FDIC investigation.
