Shellsburg man buys winning lottery ticket

Edited-The Iowa Lottery announced on their Facebook page that Ed Sass of Shellsburg had bought a winning lottery ticket. Sass said that on Monday morning he bought the ticket at the Quick Stop in Shellsburg.

Vinton Unlimited announced the Grand Prize winner of their Holiday Lights Punch Card drawing. For the 2023 holiday shopping season, the Grand Prize winner is Andrew Noe! Shooting Saturday morning results in one fatality and one hospitalized

On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at about 10:24 PM, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a 59-year-old female had been shot and was being transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
