Breast Cancer Survivors to meet Quarterly

Breast Cancer Survivors have decided to meet quarterly the first Monday. Therefore, the next meeting will be held the first Tuesday in September (due to Labor Day on the first Monday) in the Windsor Manor dining room. More information will be coming. If you have been recently diagnosed, please feel free to reach out to any of the following women for help or support.

Suggested ways to protect sensitive people from heavy fireworks smoke

As much as we love fireworks displays, drifting smoke can cause breathing problems for some.“If your family or friends suffer from asthma or respiratory difficulties, it’s important for them to stay upwind, a safe distance from fireworks smoke,” says Brian Hutchins, DNR air quality supervisor. “The elderly and children are also vulnerable to higher levels of smoke.

IDPH Offers Drowning Prevention Reminders

Drownings are a leading cause of injury death for children ages 1 to 14 and three children die each day in the U.S. because of drowning. Nationally, drowning kills more children ages 1 through 4 than anything else except birth defects. Thursday, June 20, 2019, Governor Reynolds will sign a proclamation declaring June 16 through 22 as Drowning Prevention Week in Iowa.
