Shellsburg City Council Minutes 10/17/23
10-17-2023 a regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at
6:00pm in the Council Chambers. Roll call was answered by Harvey, Thorkildson, Travis, Vogt, and
Reeves.
Vogt motioned to approve the amended agenda to strike Schmolling property. Harvey seconded. All
ayes.
Vogt motioned to set the public hearing for rezoning of property from Ag to R2 on 11-06-23 for the new
development.
Hinson to visit Atkins on Wednesday morning
We are back on the road for the 22 County Tour this week, and it feels great to connect with Iowans after spending the last few weeks in D.C.I was in Dubuque and Oelwein today, will be making several stops across the district tomorrow, and am hosting an in-person town hall in Atkins on Wednesday. 10-02-2023 a regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at
6:00 pm in the Council Chambers. Roll call was answered by Reeves, Harvey, Thorkildson, Travis, and
Vogt.
Thorkildson motioned to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Travis. All ayes.
Superintendent Robertson reported that the main well was down so they completed scheduled
maintenance and replaced some needed parts.
