Iowa State University Extension will offer four workshops in northeastern and eastern Iowa featuring environmental issues for feedlots and dairies that are medium-sized concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs).
The Benton County Relay for Life event takes place tomorrow night at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School track (Karr Field). Below is a shedule of events and entertainment.
Lights. . . Camera. . . Action. . . the Iowa State Fair is ready to roll but is in need of the stars of the show. The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are searching for ten outstanding volunteers to be the next Iowan of the Day at the Iowa State Fair.
On Friday, June 3rd we invite the public to our BBQ where we will reveal the Challenge Winner of the Flower Pot competition.
The BBQ will be from 4pm to 6pm
Free-will donation proceeds will go to the North Benton Ambulance Service in honor of EMS week.
On June 25th a National Rifle Association class on Basic Pistol will be conducted at the Izaak Walton League north of Vinton. This is an eight hour course featuring basic skill learning, actual handling and becoming familiar with handguns.
The Memorial Day Services at Vinton will take place at the local cemeteries this Monday, May 30.
