The New Year is upon us and the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is proud to continue offering a slate of programs and events to keep you and your family busy during these chilly months!   Winter Swim The next four Sundays in January (10, 17, 24, 31) will provide people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy two hours of open swim time at the Braille School indoor pool in Vinton.

Breast Cancer Survivors to meet at VS Vikette Pink Night, Jan. 15

Breast Cancer Survivors: We will not meet on our regularly scheduled night in January or February, 2016.     Pink Night will be held January 15 at the Vinton-Shellsburg girls basketball game.

Pink Night: V-S, CPU girls to honor breast cancer survivors Jan. 15

The annual Pink Night for the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes basketball team will take place on Friday, Jan. 15. The Vikettes and their opponents, the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers, will wear pink and honor survivors during halftime.

Shellsburg Legion/Lions continue monthly Bingo, Dec. 19

The Shellsburg Lions Club and American Legion will be having BINGO on Saturday, Dec. 19.  Doors open at 5 pm and Bingo starts at 6 pm.  Bingo cards are 50 cents per card.

Christmas Program Thursday Night at Shellsburg Elementary

The Shellsburg Elementary K-4 students will present a Holiday Concert, Thursday, December 10 at 6:30 pm in the Shellsburg gymnasium.   Each grade will share a featured song and will also combine with students of other grades to share a variety of holiday music.
