Vinton’s Laborshed Data to Be Presented

The 2019 Vinton Laborshed Workforce Study is complete. Where does Vinton get its workforce? What industries and occupations are people working? How much are they earning? Where are job seekers looking for jobs? Where is there available labor? These are the questions that the jointly funded (by Iowa Workforce Development & Iowa Economic Development Authority) labor supply attempts to answer for communities across Iowa.

Schadle Retirement Open House at City Hall

The public is invited to an open house to in honor of Jeff Schadle's work on the Vinton City Street Department. Schadle has been the city's arborist for the last 13 years.

May 29th Memorial Day Meal

The 4th St. Diner will be hosting a Roast Beef Lunch on Wednesday, May 29th in honor of Memorial Day. The menu will consist of Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, candied carrots, pears, cupcakes, Whole Wheat Bread, Margarine and Milk.

Friends of the Center Point Library will hold their annual book sale on Friday, June 7 from 3:00pm to 7:00 pm. We will open again on Saturday, June 8 at 9:00 am and close at 3:00 pm.

EAA Young Eagles to visit the Airport and offer flights to Children

The EAA Young Eagles event will be held at the airport on June 8, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m."Young Eagles is a program through the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) through which kids ages 8-17 are given free rides in aircraft our own aircraft to introduce them to general aviation and flying.

Fuel Up For Summer Fun

Tilford Elementary and Shellsburg Elementary will be providing FREE breakfast and lunch from June 10th-August 16th (Closed during the week of July 1)The meals are provided to children and teens ages 1-18, there is no registration or identification required.
