A one-hour collection of La Porte City streetscenes from the 1930’s, 1940’s, and 1950’s, will be shown at Hawkins Memorial Library, La PorteCity, on Monday, May 29, at 1:15 PM,. These “snippets” of past life in La PorteCity, with appearances by many local people, were captured on the 8 mm movie camera of George Abel. A “viewing guide” will be available for attendees to use in following along. George’s daughters, and local authors, Ruth Anne Abel Schneck and Janice Abel, are sharing this fun and nostalgic film.

Come in and sit a spell at the library to view and relive, or learn about, the past history of La PorteCity. If you have a request for a group wanting to view this movie at another time, please call Jolene at the library, 319-342-3025, to schedule.
