The 3rd Annual Special Olympics Benefit Ride will take place Aug. 25 (the same Saturday as Boomtown).

The event begins at 11 a.m., with sign-up at the RonDaVoo. Cost is $15 per person. Following the Blessing of Bikes, riders will head out by noon. They will arrive at Mickey’s Bar at 6 p.m. All vehicles are welcome. Raffle tickets for a variety of prizes will be sold for $1 each or six for $5. A raffle for a flat-screen TV will also take place. Tickets are $5 or five for $20. There will also be a 50-50 poker hand.

The route includes: Ron da Voo in Vinton, Joker’s in Traer, Oasis Tavern in Belle Plaine, Turner Hall in Keystone, Coop’s Roadhouse in Shellsburg, the 0-Zone in Urbana and Mickey’s Bar in Vinton (Mickey’s will provide food and music).
