The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting the final Vinton Farmers Market is this coming Thursday, September 29th. The market will be held at the Vinton Rail Road Depot at 612 2nd Avenue from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. this Thursday because of the scheduling of the Homecoming Parade which begins at 6:00 p.m.
The market has been very fortunate to have some great vendors this season that bring fabulous products for everyone to purchase. The selection has included vegetables, fruits, baked goods, honey and crafts. Stop by this Thursday to stock up on some great products to last you over the fall winter season. This is also the market that we give out prizes to the winners of our Long Distance Balloon Contest. The balloons were launched at the depot on Thursday, June 2nd; we have had four returned out of the 100 plus balloons. Stop by the market to see if maybe one of the returned balloons was yours. Award presentations will take place at 5:15 p.m.
This week, the Benton County Cattleman will be a cooking a hot supper for you to enjoy so stop out and make it a fun night for the whole family. So before you go shopping downtown at all of our great Vinton businesses and before you go to watch the parade, stop over to the Depot to support your local producers and have a great sandwich by the cattleman.
If you have any questions about the market or are interested in becoming a vendor for next year, contact the VPRD at 472-4164. You can also visit our website at vprdzone.com for weekly activities and vendor registration forms.
