This past February, Easton Lindeman then age 2, son of Corey and Samantha was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that affects his adrenal glands, spinal column, and bone marrow.

Neuroblastoma is a cancer that develops from immature nerve cells found in several areas of the body. Treatment for Easton started right away. This was followed by hospitalizations for both treatments and illnesses. So far he has gone through 3 rounds of chemotherapy and an IMIBG therapy at the University of Wisconsin. (I know you're going to ask what IMIBG Therapy is. It's a form of radiation treatment) This was followed by more chemotherapy and surgery to try to remove as much of the tumor as possible.

Round 5 of chemotherapy followed all of that and he is currently finishing up with his 6th round of high dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. He has had countless blood and platelet transfusions, ECHO's, hearing tests, MRI's, CT scans, X-Rays, bone marrow biopsies, surgeries and sedation. PICC line placements and Port Access placement.

"Our next steps are radiation therapy for at least 6 weeks (we will know more after further scans are done and the radiation is mapped out) then onto immunotherapy. Which will involve at least one week for three months of inpatient infusions and medications at home." said his mother Samantha."Easton turned 3 in August and when he is feeling well at the Hospital he loves passing out candy to all his nurse and doctor friends, we have gone through several large bags. But it makes him happy and keeps him active," she added.

There isn't a lot that slows him down at home as he tries to keep up with his big brother Hunter and cousin Eleanor she said. He's a big fan of his family and always wants to see his Grandma and Grandpa (Dawn & Doug Yenser) almost daily, "it has to be our first stop on our way home from any hospital stays," said his mom.

Friends of the family will be holding a benefit to help the family with expenses. The event will be held at Celebration Park, located at 105 West 2nd St., in Vinton, on Saturday, October 10th, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and running until 4:00 p.m. A freewill donation meal, silent auction, and bake sale will be available.

The meat for the meal has been provided by Smokin' on the Cedar and Fareway.

If you have any questions or would like to make a donation that needs to be picked up or dropped off you can contact April at (319) 505-0920.
