The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will kick off another Farmers Market season on Thursday, June 2.
The market will once again be hosted at the Vinton Railroad Depot from 5 to 7 PM every Thursday through September 29th. This Thursday, visitors will be able to take park in our free annual long distance balloon contest while enjoying a solo musical performance from Stephen Schmidt. You will likely recognize Schmidt from one of his recent performances as a current member of the very talented local band StraitRun. Of course, Merchants Grilling will be there again slinging burgers and other tasty selections throughout the evening and VPRD will be there to satisfy all of your chip and beverage needs.
The true stars of our weekly market, however, are the vendors! Make sure you stop on by to see everything these wonderful vendors have to offer. Each year, we are always pleasantly surprised by the variety of excellent products that your neighbors and area vendors have on display. One thing we do know for certain is that you will always find fresh produce, delicious baked goods and high-quality crafts every single week at our market.
Throughout the market season, we will be having some of the classic events such as Vendor Sample Night and Community Band performances but we are also planning some exciting new activities as well. Be sure to gather up the family or a friend and stop out at the Vinton Farmers Market every Thursday. If you have any questions about the market or would like to become a vendor, please contact the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department at 319-472-4164 or by emailing Brad at vprdbarker@vintoniowa.net
Market is held rain or shine at the Vinton Railroad Depot at 612 2nd Ave on Thursdays from 5-7 pm. Vendors are not allowed to sell, bag or hold goods for anyone prior to 5 pm. Customers, please be courteous and don't ask vendors to break the market rules. For more information, call the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department office at 472-4164. See the complete schedule HERE.
