Wilson-Hite Insurance and College Savings Iowa are sponsoring an informational meeting on the Iowa 529 College Savings Plan.
The event takes place tonight, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the Vinton-Shellsburg High School auditorium.
Participating families will learn about the benefits of using a 529 savings plan to help prepare for future education expenses, and learn how to register for a $1,000 giveaway and how to receive a $10 boost to a newly established account.
"Education is such a valuable tool and even if it’s a parent/grandparent pitching in $25 at a birthday or Christmas for that grandchild to a College Savings Account- it’s something that shows that child that you value education, and that you want more for that child and believe in the power of education. I hope people realize that College Savings doesn’t have to be about a college or university. This money can help offset the cost of books, it can be used at a community college, a trade school, etc. I really hope people come out tonight to get those questions answered. I’ve heard so many- what if my child doesn’t go to college? What if they go out of state? Now is the time to get the true answer so you can stop delaying and start saving! There is never a better time to start than right now!" said Tressa Walton of Wilson-Hite.
Wilson-Hite invites everyone to join them along with a representative from College Savings Iowa to discuss the benefits.
Refreshments to follow.
