Stop on out to the Benton County Fairgrounds on Friday night, September 17th.
The beer tent will be open at 6pm, with live entertainment starting about 8pm until midnight, with the Boogie Woogers!
Mitch Smith and Dan Boddicker have been performing together for over 30 years.
Since their first jam session at a 4th of July party at the tender age of 14 in 1976, this duo have been key players in some of the heaviest hitting, trend setting bands in Eastern Iowa.
Now they present a new style and fresh approach to playing music and having fun. With the help of a few great friends and fellow musicians, background music was recorded to provide the base for Mitch and Dan's performance. These include Bassist Steve DeForest, Drummers Kevin Garretson and Shawn Day, Guitarists Brian Lario and Larry Kovarik.
No Karaoke act, this is live piano, sax and vocals that can be done with or without the background; that's simply icing on the cake. The benefits are complete volume control, ability to play in smaller stage environments and a much more intimate interaction with the audience. Also, Mitch and Dan are frequently joined for a few tunes by musician friends and family like Shakin' Jake Smith and others who may happen to be in the audience.
Mitch and Dan have built a repertoire of very popular classics, B side favorites and original songs guaranteed to please any crowd whether they want to dance or listen or both. Their style is boogie woogie blues, rock and swing.
JUST TRY AND SIT STILL!
No planned fireworks display will take place Friday night, although IPA members will be allowed open shooting - Demonstration and Practice only.FREE Admission & FREE Parking at the Benton County Fairgrounds
