Events and Activities : Boomtown and Boomfest offer something for every one

Boomtown comes to Vinton this weekend!

Below is a schedule of Saturday events:

BREAKFAST 7-11 a.m.

Start your day out right with a breakfast you won't forget!

The Iowa Pyrotehnics Association brings Chris Cakes to town for some pancake flippin' fun! (and its good too!) Chris Cakes will be cooking and throwing the hot cakes.

Sausage and drink included.

BOOMFEST

11:00-3:00 p.m.

Downtown Vinton will be booming with activities for everyone.

There will be an Arts and Crafts Show, Farmer's Market, Inflatables for the kids and live entertainment!

2:00 p.m.

There will be a special showing of Avatar in 3D at the Palace Theatre, a mere $3 for this 3-D!

BOOMTOWN SATURDAY EVENING

3:00 p.m.

The gates will open at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Parking at the fairgrounds will be $10.00 per vehicle.

Admission to the grandstand is $5 per person for general seating and $10 per person for the "Boom Box" seating, front row seats.

There is picnic style lawn seating is free. Bring your blanket and chairs!

There will be great food selections by:

Peppy's Ice Cream, Whittle COncissions, Donuts - R-Us, Country Cookin' and more!

6:00 p.m.

Join the live entertainment of Jampact until the fireworks begin, and again after the fireworks until Midnight!

8:45 p.m. approximately

The Grand Public Display will begin at dusk.

They're loud, they're proud, they're the IPA and they're back again for the 4th Annual Boomtown Celebration. Don't miss these award winning pyrotechnicians as they rattle the windows of Vinton for one of the best fireworks displays in the Midwest!

Competitions and demonstrations will begin at dusk, with the main choreographed display at approximately 9:00 p.m.

If you are near the Fairgrounds that night, you can tune into 93.5 for live event coverage.
