Events and Activities : Garrison Library fund-raiser: Music and Maidrites set for Sept. 12

The Garrison Public Library is hosting an evening of food and music next Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Mercantile Hall in Garrison.
Enjoy maidrites from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and then at 7 enjoy and evening of bluegrass/folk style music. Soundhole - a group of musicians who come from coast to coast, Canada and a few from overseas will be preforming that night. The musicians met on the Internet because of a love of guitar and music and have developed long-term friendships. They have gathered in Iowa since 2004 putting on an annual September Saturday night concert (nicknamed the "Idiot Jam") in the Vinton area. Garrison Library staff and board members are pleased and excited that the musicians have offered to do this Library fund-raiser.

There will be a sneak peek of the new library from 4-6 pm.
