Everyone is invited to attend the presentation, "Prohibition in Eastern Iowa" on at the Horridge House in Vinton, Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

Linda Betsinger McCann, author of the "Lost Towns" series, looks at the 13 year span of time known as "Prohibition" through the lens of Eastern Iowa townspeople and others. From farmers who grew the corn used in making illegal liquor, to the bootleggers who trafficked in it and the gangsters who sold it, Eastern Iowa saw its fair share! You will be surprised to learn how this period in our national history transpired in, and impacted, Iowa. Books will be available for purchase.

Admission is $10 for the public and $7 for members of the Benton County Historical Society.
