The Vinton Public Library has received funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, non-profit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, to host a presentation “An Evening About Laura Ingalls Wilder” by Sarah Uthoff at 6:30, Thursday, April 9th at the library,. A cultural resource for Iowans since 1971, Humanities Iowa offers many cultural and historical programs and grants to Iowa’s communities.
The Vinton Public Library is pleased to welcome the nationally respected authority on Laura Ingalls Wilder, Sarah Uthoff, for a program about Laura Ingalls Wilder.
An active Wilder researcher, Sarah is a regularly featured speaker at the annual Laura Ingalls Wilder Remembered Day at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch. She has spoken at five of the Laura Ingalls Wilder sites located in Pepin, WI, Independence, KS, Walnut Grove, MN, Burr Oak, IA, and De Smet, SD
Vinton’s Mary Ingalls Society may never have happened without Laura’s books.
