Events and Activities : Feed Iowa First leader to speak Monday; group hopes to establish gardens

Sonia Kedrick, who has earned recognition in Iowa and beyond for her efforts in creating community gardens in empty lots, will speak on Monday at a meeting of the Cottage Garden Society.

Society member Cindy Elwick says the group is hoping to establish similar gardens in the Vinton area.

The event will take place in the Fireplace Room of Wesley United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23. Everyone is invited.
