Beats, Burgers, Brats, Brews and Bicycles will be on Main Street and you can explore the Old Creamery Nature Trail Saturday, August 23 from noon to 5:00pm. Volunteers, local service organizations, the Dysart Business Builders and the Dysart Development Corporation have been planning this event for months in support of the Old Creamery Nature Trail. The trail extends from Dysart to Garrison and on to Vinton and has been greatly improved with the help of many volunteers and from funding through a grant and matching funds.
IT IS TIME TO CELEBRATE! Beats will be provided from 2 to 5pm by Full Circle, a band from Cedar Rapids who play music from the 1960’s to present day hits. Burgers and Brats will be sold on Main Street beginning at noon by the Lions Club and the Farmers Co-Op Telephone Co. Three craft breweries; Broad Street Brewing Co. from Reinbeck, Another Road from Marion and Backpocket Brewing from Coralville will be on Main Street to provide tastings from 2 to 4pm. There will be a $10.00 charge for tastings that will include a great commemorative glass. A beer garden will be set up by Club Dysart to sell keg and bottled beer from the craft breweries. Bring your bicycle and ride the trail, one mile or more, we believe you will enjoy the time spent on the Old Creamery Nature Trail. On the afternoon of the event wagon rides will be offered so look for the staging area to take a leisurely ride the first three miles of the trail. From 1 to 3pm the event will also have games, balloon sculptures and face painting for children.
We are raffling a new TREK bicycle donated by Europa Cycle and Ski of Cedar Falls. The cost of a ticket is $5.00 or 5 tickets for $20.00. The drawing will be at the end of the event and you do not have to be present to win. All proceeds go towards the trail. If you win and it does not fit you properly or if you would like to upgrade the model, the bicycle being raffled will be taken to Europa for you so that adjustments can be made.
We look forward to seeing you at Beats, Burgers, Brats, Brews and Bicycles!
