About the Park
With the picturesque Cedar River as a backdrop, Celebration Park features a large, modern gazebo perfect for wedding ceremonies, speaking engagements or band performances. Other amenities include a 75-foot limestone river wall, pavilion, picnic areas, fire pits, and art features from local artists interwoven among a relaxing walking path.

Celebration Park has become a beautiful focal point and landmark for thousands as they enter and depart the community of Vinton from Highway 150. The parcel of land upon which this park sits was acquired by the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department following the disastrous flooding of the Cedar River in 2008. Utilizing greenspace no longer fit for residential or commercial purposes because of its proximity to the river, Celebration Park’s development and its features was made possible following a local fundraising campaign in 2013 that amassed a staggering $300,000 in private contributions.

Festivities for Celebration Park’s grand opening include recognizing the park’s planning committee and donors through ribbon cutting ceremonies. Also featured will be an evening full of live music, bonfires with s’mores, food vendors and fireworks!
