Mark your calendars!!! This Saturday, June 7th the Shellsburg American Legion Riders 5th Annual Charity Ride will ride for the veterans!
We will depart Shellsburg and proceed to Quasqueton, Central City, Waubeek, Troy Mills and end in Atkins.

We are a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, who are also proud members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, and The Sons of The American Legion. We firmly believe there should be no veteran left behind. The members of The American Legion Riders of Post 166, Shellsburg, Iowa are committed to supporting American Veterans and their families.

Now, in our fifth year, our previous Charity Rides have allowed us to donate to the WWII Honor Flights, The Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown and The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund (to fund scholarships for the children of our military who have died during active duty since 9/11), in addition to numerous other events to assist veterans and their families. We are well aware that many businesses are frequently asked for donations. Please understand, we would not be asking if our group did not feel it is important. We are a public charity #501 C19. Receipts will be sent upon request. Because of the 2013 Charity Ride were able to deliver 15 32inch televisions to The Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, donate $750.00 to the Legacy Scholarship Fund, $60 in bus passes for the V.A. Outreach Center and $250 to the American Legion National Commander’s Project- Operation Comfort Warriors among other various donations. Last year we also volunteered over 4,000 hours, 49,000 miles and $6,000. Our Nations veterans are worth every second, every inch and every penny.

We are asking for your help. If you would be willing to donate a gift certificate, merchandise, hotel stays, complimentary services – anything that can be used to raise money for this great cause, it would be genuinely appreciated. Also a special thanks to those of you that donated to last year’s event.

Thank you for your anticipated support and generosity for our nation’s veterans and their families,
who have sacrificed so much for our country.

American Legion Riders from Posts throughout the world are working together to insure that our
Military and Veterans are cared for and remembered with the honor and respect that they deserve. POSTS
