Events and Activities : March 8 Penguins Comedy Club event to help VS Post Prom

Back by popular demand, the 2014 Post Prom committee is pleased to partner with Penguin’s Comedy Club in Cedar Rapids to offer tickets for an evening of adult comedy.

Purchase your tickets now for the Saturday, March 8 show featuring “The Midnight Swinger.” His website describes him as “putting the show back in showman.” The Midnight Swinger combines the style and cool of a 60's Las Vegas performer with the flash and excitement of a 21st century Super Bowl halftime extravaganza.

“More than just a stand-up comedian, the Midnight Swinger is proud to be called a throwback entertainer”. That's right, an entertainer! The Swinger believes in more than just standing behind the microphone and telling jokes, and doing more than just a simple "comedy show." The Midnight Swinger puts on a spectacle that leaves the audience LAUGHIN', SINGIN' and SWINGIN'.”

This fundraising show sponsored by Penguins Comedy Club is held at The Vault, 208 2nd Ave. S.E., downtown Cedar Rapids beginning at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available now for just $15 each (there is also a minimum two beverage purchase per ticket required at the club) and may be purchased at Barnes Furniture, Cameron’s, IMCA and Monkeytown in Vinton as well as UnityPointFamily Medicine in Shellsburg.

Proceeds from your ticket purchases benefit the 2014 V-S Post-Prom event. Each year, parents of the junior class work together to host a safe, drug and alcohol-free party after Prom for VSHS Juniors, Seniors and their guests. The students enjoy games, activities, entertainment, food and prizes FREE for all attendees.
