Legion to Hold Tenderloin Dinner

The Vinton American Legion's tenderloin dinner has been postponed until August 29. We will be serving from 5 to 7 PM. or when we run out of tenderloins. For $8.00, you can get a 6 oz Tenderloin on a Kaiser Bun, with French Fries, Coleslaw and a Dessert.The Legion is located at 105 North R Ave. in Vinton.

MOPS and Momsnext to begin September 11

MOPS and momsnext will be held at Blessed Hope Community Church again this year. The first night will be Wednesday, September 11th beginning at 5:20 p.m. and will run until 7:00 p.m.MOPS is a weekly gathering for moms with children ages 0-5th grade. There is a time of fellowship and study, along with activity nights.

Center Point to host Cemetery Walk

Trinity Lutheran to open parking lot for Boomtown

Trinity Lutheran Church will be holding a "BOOMTOWN Bazaar & Garage Sale" on Saturday, August 24, from 9:00 a.m. to ????Lunch will be available - Maidrite/chips/drink for $5.00Come back later and park in the church parking lot and watch the fireworks with us. $5.00 per car.

Fields of Faith October 2

Fields of Faith will hold their annual event on Wednesday, October 2, 7:00 p.m. at the Union Football field.Come out to hear the Curtis Fry story who went from an athlete to a convict in a matter of seconds. The Just US women’s leadership group in Vinton is bringing the American Library Association community read program One Book, One Community to Benton County!  The event was announced in conjunction with VGH’s movie night at Riverside Park during Vinton’s sesquicentennial celebration.   The book chosen is We hope you like this song; an overly honest story about friendship, death and mixed tapes by Bree Housley.

Join the Tuesday afternoon Bridge Club

There will be a Bridge Club held at Geekified Game Store on Tuesday afternoons beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. The store is located at 215 W. 4th St. in Vinton, 319-214-1400.There will be free card game play and lessons.The card game Bridge is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, no jokers.

Cedar River Parade this Saturday, August 17

Tami StarkThis Saturday, August 17th, will see the first of it’s kind in Vinton, a parade on the Cedar River!!For the past 10 years, the Cedar River R.A.T.S. has hosted an annual clean up of the Cedar River, made possible with the help of the community and the participation of volunteers from neighboring towns and counties.
