Town hall meeting to focus on preventing underage drinking, April 29

  On Tuesday April 29th the Benton County Above the Influence Coalition in partnership with the Reality Check youth advocacy group will be holding a town hall meeting on Underage Drinking.  This is set up to hold a conversation on this topic along with the use of other substances in an effort to empower youth, parents, and our community as a whole.

Mt. Auburn Legion brunch set for Sunday

The Mount Auburn American Legion/Auxiliary Spring Brunch will take place this Sunday, April 27, at the Legion Hall, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free will donation will be accepted at the door.

'Handicap This' comedy routine coming to Vinton, April 26

Mike Berkson and Tim Wambach will bring their 'Handicap This' comedy presentation to town April 26. Comedians Mike Berkson and Tim Wambach will bring their "Handicap This" presentation to Vinton this weekend, where they will perform a the Iowa Braille School auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26. The act is designed to use humor to help empower those with disabilities and help others understand the variety of challenges they face.

BC Historical Society to host Laura Ingalls Wilder presenter, April 27

VINTON—Experience the recently rejuvenated historic Horridge House and see Laura Ingalls Wilder come to life as Marie Tschopp, dressed in pioneer costume, shares stories from the life and works of this beloved author.  Audiences will laugh as Marie describes Grandpa’s adventure with a pig on a sled, cheer when Laura gets even with Nellie, and despair at the destruction of Pa's wheat crop.

Easter Bunny to arrive at Riverside Park Saturday at 10 a.m.

For Mom and the CP Library: Garden party set for May 10

Do something nice for your mom and the Center Point Library the day before Mother’s Day—go to a garden party. The Center Point Library building fund committee is having a garden party at Wakema Park in Center Point from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10 (rain or shine.) Tickets are $5 per person in advance or $6 at the gate. Preschoolers and younger are free.

Iowa Wine Trail announces 10th anniversary event
