The Vinton Parks and Recreation Department will be starting the Medallion Hunt, once again for the 23rd Anniversary of Party in the Park. The Medallion Hunt will begin June 5 and end on June 26. This year’s hunt features eight locations with a bit of community history. Each family is eligible to find one medallion. You are encouraged to keep looking even if you have found a medallion because it really is a lot of fun, but please don’t share the location if you find it. Once you find a medallion, please bring it to the Recreation Center for verification and to receive your Party in the Park t-shirt. You may also keep the medallion as a souvenir. All medallion winners’ names will go in to a drawing on Saturday evening for an additional $50 in Vinton Value Dollars.

Clues will be distributed daily beginning at 9 am via the VPRD website (www.vprdzone.com), Vinton Today (www.vintoniowa.org), Facebook (www.facebook.com/vinton.vprd), Vinton Newspapers (www.vintonnewspapers.com) and all participating Vinton Unlimited businesses. This year, there will be two medallions hidden each Thursday in June. Clues will be given out on June 5, 12, 19 & 26

OFFICIAL RULES: Medallions are hidden within city limits by 9 am on Thursday. Please respect private property when looking for medallions. This year all medallions will be located in Vinton Unlimited retail businesses. • Only one medallion per family. • Once you have found a medallion, you may search for additional ones, but please don’t tell others where the medallion is located. • The medallions will be visible, so don’t move merchandise or re-arrange a store front. You will be able to access the medallion without disturbing merchandise. • Once you’ve found it, return your medallion to the Vinton Recreation Center immediately and receive your free Party in the Park t-shirt.

Please contact the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department office at 472-4164 with any questions.
