VS choirs to perform Holiday Concert, Monday
Come see the Middle School and High School Choirs in our Holiday Concert on Monday, December 8th. There will be holiday favorites, large groups, small groups, solos, percussion, dancing and decorations to appeal to all senses! We would love to help start your holiday season off right. Join us at 7:00pm in the VSHS Auditorium. Admission is $5.
Free financial education seminars begin this week
Please join McClure Financial Services and Principal Financial Group for a free series of financial education seminars. Seminar dates are Thursday, December 4th; Tuesday, December 9th; and Monday, December 15th. All seminars are held at the U.S. Bank Community Room at 7 pm. December 4th will cover a basic road map for financial security for the young adult.
Pearl Harbor ceremony set for Dec. 7 at VSMS
Pearl Harbor Day services will be held at Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School LMC from 12-1 on Sunday, 7 December 2014. The LMC will be open to the public at 11:30; artifacts from World War II Pacific Theater servicemen will be on display.

Parent Support Group meets every month; next gathering set for Dec. 2
The Horizons Family Support Program invites area parents to a Parent Support Group. The meetings take place the first Tuesday of each month at the Horizons office at 215 North K Avenue in Vinton. Topic change monthly and include tips for navigating the welfare system mental health, child development by age range and others. The topic for the next meeting on Tuesday, Dec.

'Fill the Plate' Telethon to help feed older adults set for Dec. 7
The Heritage Area Agency on Aging is hoping the public dials in to help feed at-risk older adults in eastern Iowa. Heritage is excited to announce the return of the Fill the Plate telethon to bring greater support and awareness for its Senior Nutrition Home Delivered and Congregate Meal program. Last year’s telethon raised over $105,000 to help provide nutritious meals to older adults throughout eastern Iowa.
