Viking soccer upsets #3 Raiders 2-1 (OT)

WILLIAMSBURG - The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking varsity soccer team took on the #3-ranked Williamsburg Raiders at Bob Murphy Stadium in Williamsburg earned a 2-1 upset, overtime victory over the third-ranked Raiders.

The Vikings shut down the Raiders through 77 minutes and change after the Raiders scored the first goal about three minutes into the match. Then the Vikings scored two goals in the final 79 minutes to earn the win.

The Vikings are now 6-2 (4-0 WaMaC West) dropped the the Raiders to 7-2 (4-1 WaMaC West) and now will play the South Tama Trojans (4-4, 1-2 WaMaC West) and the Beckman Catholic Blazers (4-1, 1-1 WaMaC East), they will then take on the Cedar Valley Christian Huskies. They will then return home for the last four games of the season.
