November is voting time. If a candidate says he/she is progressive you would be voting for Marxism or Socialism and voting to end our Republic. Which will it be?

SG - I reject your premise. How exactly would you measure success? You will have to establish some parameters if you want a serious answer. Unless of course this is supposed to be a "gotcha" question, (it is) in which case, please refer back to sentence one.
I don't debate reactionaries. On a good day, I try to educate them. On a REALLY good day, I like to stir the pot and laugh like The Witch of the Woods.
The ideology is not worthy of debate - only ridicule.

KH can you name one successful socialist country, please?

Any candidate with the strength of conviction to actually campaign and govern as a socialist will have my vote. Unfortunately, none are on the ticket in Iowa.
I think it would be helpful for you to understand from an actual socialist: having caucused and volunteered for the Sanders campaign twice, donated to Mamdani, and being at various times affiliated with left wing groups, I can tell you: there are vanishingly few radicals in American electoral politics to begin with, and far fewer yet in the Democratic party. Even the most "radical" groups in the American political sphere are at BEST center to center-left when examined with a modest understanding of political thought.
To believe otherwise is to admit to the brainwashing of corporate media and to the total abandonment of critical thought. The few Social Democrats present in the party are, to the average socialist, the best bad option. Not to mention that many true leftists have abandoned electoral politics entirely under this system; which exists only to enrich the already powerful and grind to dust the disadvantaged Precariat. At its best, the system functions well enough to drag the rotting corpse of American imperialism forward unto a new day.
And it's been what, 60 years since The Weather Underground? For better or worse, an actual radical group. I challenge anyone to name a group from the last 25 years, let alone this decade. And don't say Antifa. Ya'll still fundamentally misunderstand 'them."
I digress.
For homework, I'd suggest reading some political theory and to think critically about the political structures in America and report back. Who benefits from such a system? The average person, or the wealthy? Is this system designed to elevate and liberate even the lowest of us, or to maximize shareholder value?
Once you begin operating from a basis of fact over fiction, you'll be able to shed the propaganda. Not to mention, most works on socialism are very accessible. It is the politics of the common man after all; and written accordingly. The terrifying "Marxism" you decry is no more based in reality than The Boogeyman, or some Witch of the Woods.
I know that you make these posts here to stir the pot. I do too. I just know what I'm talking about.

Randy
I never wrote any of those lies. That's all Democrats have left, misinformation and lies.
Randy seems to have a ton of them.

Our republic is slowing ending under Republican control. Expect a blue wave in November!
I wondered where John was as President Felon is destroying our credibility and, despite our military performing very well, putting us in a worse position in the middle east and with Iran than we were in February. I thought John might be writing about $4.29 gas and trying to blame that on Biden or Obama. Maybe a 20% increase in beef costs along with coffee and groceries was their fault too.
Trump was going to fix things on day on and we are north of day 450. He added $7 trillion to the debt after his first term and has added around $1.5 trillion in a little over a year. Corporations look to get a refund on the tariffs when it was our citizens that paid the extra costs. His family is grifting the country for billions! The $400 million ballroom was suppose to be paid for by donations now has a billion dollar request from Republicans in Congress.
