Opinion : Letter to the Editor: Clear and Present Danger/What's the hold up?

Their excuse is that the federal subsidy on the Affordable Care Act expires on December 31.  Premiums have doubled since 2010.  The Federal subsidy was put in place due to COVID.  That crisis is over, so the subsidy ends by legislation passed by Congress and signed into law at the end of this year.  It seems that California has been able to pass the subsidy on to illegal immigrants; perhaps other Blue Sanctuary States have done the same.  Regardless, Congress intended that the subsidy be given to U.S. citizens.  The demands of Schumer and company are an increase in spending of a trillion and a half more dollars over and above any projected revenue.  This means an increase in national debt, which is approximately 38 trillion and growing at last count. The real deal is that the Affordable Care Act is not affordable, and needs massive rework.

SNAP and WIC funds will end on November first.  Paychecks for air traffic controllers, and the military will stop; however, they will still be required to report for duty.  A citizen volunteer has donated enough money to pay our Military.  At present, the various Secretaries are trying to find funds for other essential activities. The real answer is for Schumer to allow Democrats to vote for the clean CR. It is becoming ever more clear that Senator Schumer is afraid of being primaried by A.O.C.  It has been reported that A.O.C. has raised millions in funding while Schumer has yet to raise more the 200K.  The radical left has taken control of the Democratic Party.  It was reported this day that many employment groups have brought suit to stop this logjam.  It is time to get off the ”DIME”.
