Letter to the Editor: C'mon Man

C'mon City of Vinton!

I've lived here 15 years and during that time, I have only seen one small stretch of the old town streets made new. All the newer parts of town get the new roads and "heavens above" new sidewalks.C'mon City of Vinton our streets are beyond horrible - just take a drive up to Virginia Gay Hospital/Clinic. Try driving down 3rd or 4th streets!What? You say come to our meetings and make a formal complaint. Well, not everyone can change their schedules to do just that.So here it is, aren't you even a little bit embarrassed about our streets?! Do what you must do; fill out the paperwork, get grants, stop building parks for a few years but c'mon man - do what it takes!! FIX OUR STREETS!

MY February 28, 2023, 2:41 pm I agree. 4th street is horrible. 8th st is horrible, most of all the avenues are awful. Pot holes, some of the actual street missing. I understand the salt and sand treatments used for ice and snow, then it needs cleaned as to not erode our street. I can not keep paying to have my cars fixed! I drive as slow as possible and swerve around! More than likely to be pulled over.

New streets vs more parks

BT March 3, 2023, 10:58 am Hey LS, Ninja Park, Splash Pad and Celebration parks. Now - when was the last time 3rd St and 4th St were done? AND ALL THE STREETS AND AVENUES!!!
