Barbara Mae Neuendorf, 86, of La Porte City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the La Porte City Specialty Care.

She was born April 7, 1939, in rural Black Hawk County, daughter of Ward Richard and Helen Lucretia (Scott) Abbott. Barb attended Geneseo School K-11 and was a 1957 graduate of Decorah High School. She married Earl Neuendorf Jr. on April 23, 1960, he preceded her in death in 1991.

Barb was a homemaker and loved being a daycare provider for many children for over 30 years and was known as the "bus lady". She attended Heartland Community Church in La Porte City. She loved her family and prided herself as a Mom and Grandma.

She is survived by her three daughters, Roxanne "Roxie" Fish of La Porte City, Karen "Kary" (Ross) Lamberson of Tucson, Ariz., and Cheryl "Lynnie" (Brian) Jewett of Manchester; son, Corey Neuendorf of La Porte City; six grandchildren, Nathan Jewett, Ben (Tara) Jewett, Brianna (Joey) Lane, Julia (Tymon) Skaines, Zach Neuendorf, and Kylea (Ian Wetzler) Neuendorf; six great-grandchildren, Dillon Jewett, Autumn Jewett, Eddie Jewett, Maisy Lane, Eli Lane, and Callum Lane; six brothers, Ronnie (Judy) Abbott, Ralph (Karolynn) Abbott, Paul (Betty) Abbott, Tim (Shirley) Abbott, Doug (Rhonda) Abbott, and Tom (Phyllis) Abbott; three sisters, Coleen Poyner, Beth (Roger) Fossum and Joyce Black; two brothers-in law, Dave (Sandy) Neuendorf and Jim (Pam) Neuendorf; three sisters-in-law, Barb (Larry) Lamb, Alice Abbott, and Cheryl Abbott, and many nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Dean Abbott, Loren Abbott, Wendell Abbott, and Bob Abbott; sisters-in-law, Lois Abbott, Barb Abbott, Shirley Abbott, Jean Abbott, and Marilyn Saathoff; brothers-in-law, Ardell Saathoff, Craig Poyner, and Bob Black; nephew, David Abbott; and nieces, Rachel Krieg, Nancy Erstad, and Tammy Dewey.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Heartland Community Church, La Porte City.

Burial will be held in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Locke in La Porte City.

Memorials may be directed to Heartland Community Church or St. Croix Hospice.
