Marjorie Jean Root was born in Belle Plaine, IA on January 18, 1941. She departed for her heavenly home on September 21, 2023, but don't do the math, she wouldn't like that. In 1959, she graduated Belle Plaine High School and married Wallace DePauw and together they began life with their son Scott, sadly they divorced a few years later. Marge traveled the country eventually landing in Morro Bay, CA where she met Michael Nett, a member of the US Coast Guard. Mike's job fed her wandering nature, allowing her to continue travel the length and breadth of the continent. When Scott eventually moved to Arizona, she and Mike followed and that is where they finally settled. Alzheimer's disease stole everything from Marge, but she joyfully remembered her high school years. She wanted nothing more than to return to her home in Belle Plaine and now she is finally home.

Marjorie is proceeded in death by her parents, Zada and Sydney Root, Brothers Lyle and Marvin Root, and sister-in-law Sylvia Root. Marjorie is survived by her son Scott (Paige), Granddaughter Sarah (JD), Sister-in-Law Reta Root, nephew Eric Root (Sara), Nieces Marci and Cindy Root. Additional nieces and nephews Madison, Mason, Sadie, Katherine, and Ben.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Private graveside services were held on February 24.
