Robert L. "Bob" "Pedro" Campbell, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home in Garrison.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton (212 E. 6th Street), with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Interment will be held at Garrison Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023 also at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street). Following the service, a luncheon will be provided at Farmers Mercantile Hall in Garrison (100 W. Main Street).

 

Bob was born on February 7, 1939, in Vinton, the son of Earl and Adalaide (Quackenbush) Campbell. He attended Vinton High School.

 

Bob married Marion Fuehrer on October 25, 1958 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton and the couple later divorced. 

 

Bob worked various jobs during his career. He worked for Hawk Bilt, Benton County, B.L. Anderson and Wendling Quarries for 41 years. Bob was an avid fisherman throughout his life. He also loved playing pool, riding horses, and motorcycles in both his younger and older days. Bob was known for being very social and never met a stranger.

 

He is survived by his children, Terri Mueller of Fremont, NE,  and Don "Tiger" (Barb) Campbell of Vinton; grandchildren, Lacy (Rob) Wood, Justin (Danielle) Mueller, Katlyn (Tyler) Popken, Roni (Josh) Frye, Jamee (Andy) Erger, and Kacie Campbell; 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way; siblings, Jack Campbell of Stevens Point, WI, Florence "Flossie" Rippel of Vinton, Lois Purdy of Oelwein, Charles "Chuck" (Pat) Campbell of Cedar Rapids, and Marcia Relf of Vinton.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister-in-law Veneta; 3 brothers-in-law Roy Rippel, Gene Relf, and Gerald Purdy.
